Final weekly update
Marbellous » Devlog
I am no longer doing weekly updates.
I will continue with this project, but I need the freedom to break it apart without worrying about putting it back together before a deadline. I also don't want to tinker with small things too much since this is my first project, and I have many more big and important concepts to learn about coding and game development.
The project is also at a stage where I would feel good about leaving it as is, feeling like the game is complete. It has been a huge success for me to get it to this point. So knowing myself I may soon feel like leaving it behind, even though I don't feel that at the moment.
Updates, May 23rd, 2025:
- Added Level 9 (it's my favorite)
- Added options to remove saved data. They remove ALL times or ALL replays after choosing "Yes"
- Added options for lower replay recording quality (with jittery playback for now)
- Timer shows difference to personal best
- Timer is (more) accurate
- Menu navigation is less annoying but not ideal
- Added pause button for keyboard (P) because Esc leaves full screen mode on browser
Bugs:
- Collisions with corners are still still bad
- Timer ticks for an extra frame after resuming from paused state
- Replay follow button (T / left bumper) activates with Show Replays enabled, even when there is no replay
- Beating best time shows "--" instead of "-" followed by time difference
- And many more to discover
- Browser version should be fixed now. It was not checking each setting's existence before.
